WHAT IS COLLOIDAL OATMEAL? Despite widely circulating information, Colloidal Oatmeal is NOT ground oatmeal.
This fine silky powder has been produced using a unique process that increases the capability to absorb oil resulting in excellent creams and lotions without an ‘oily’ feel. Colloidal Oatmeal offers moisturizing properties by creating a barrier against the skin. The hydrated granules of oatmeal attach to the skin provide a protective barrier. When colloidal oatmeal is dispersed in water, it deposits fine particles on the skin and forms a viscous occlusive barrier, thus improving dry skin.
Oats can be a food allergen for some individuals. However, oats have been used over centuries as a cure for eczema and other skin diseases, and therefore are beneficial to the majority of people
